This year we saw the crowning of new Champions.  In the Junior’s Category Ms. Cynthia Najarro won first place with her song “Heart to Belize”.  Garif Jr and Jamir Valentine received second place with their submission “We are Belizean”.

The Carnival Song segment featured original songs which will be used for celebratory purposes during the September Celebrations and throughout the year.  This year’s winners for the Carnival Song segment of the competition are:

General: National Song Competition 2017 to be held in Dangriga

The National Celebrations Commission is pleased to announce the involvement of the different municipalities in ensuring that the September Celebrations festivities are experienced as an all-encompassingnational experience.  This year the energy, fun, and celebration of the National Song Competition will begin touring the country as representatives from several towns and the city of Belmopan were present for a lotto pick of this year’s venue for the National Song Competition 2017.  The winner and host of this year’s National Song Competition 2017 which will be held on Saturday, August 26thwill be the nation’s beautiful Culture Capital, Dangriga Town.

BELIZE CITY, Belize—The unofficial start to the September Celebrations came to life


with a memorable lineup of talent from all over Belize on Saturday, August 13.

 

Backed by the Gilharry 7 band, 18 performers gave the hundreds of fans at Memorial
Park quite a show. The event was hosted by Dillon Jones and made possible by the Institute of Creative Arts and the National Celebrations Commission.

Events: The Kickoff of National Song Competition 2015

The National Celebrations Commission in association with Atlantic International Bank  is sending out its last call tomusicians, performing artists and songwriters (juniors and seniors) to submit their songs inthe National Song Competition 2015.

 

The National Song Competition is the tone setter for the celebration atmosphere each year for the annual September festivities. This year, the competition will be branching out to the municipalities in the first of its kind elimination round.The winners of these municipal competitions will be invited on the national stage on August 14th, 2015 in Belize City.

NEW DATE FOR LIVE PERFORMANCE Due to the threat of tropical storm 'Harvey' the live performance section for the National Song Competition had to be postponed this weekend. All finalist will now perform their songs live on stage at the Memorial Park on Friday August 26th, 2011 starting at 7:00 p.m.  Due to the threat of tropical storm 'Harvey' the live performance section for the National Song Competition had to be postponed this weekend. General: Last Call for Songs

One 'last call' is being sounded by the organizers of this year's National Song competition. The deadline for the competition sponsored by the National Celebrations Commission in association with Atlantic International Bank is closing in fast, and that's why NICH's Shari Williams chose today to issue the final reminder that next Wednesday is the last day to submit entries.
